Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship for Dr Wenchao Wan

A success for researcher at the MPI CEC

Wenchao Wan and Saskia Heumann

We are very proud to announce that Dr. Wenchao Wan, a member of the Carbon Synthesis and Applications research team led by Dr Saskia Heumann, has recently been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship, which will enable him to continue his research career in Denmark. Sadly, this also means that Dr. Wan will be leaving our institute at the end of the month.

Dr. Wan will be working at the Technical University of Denmark, Department of Physics, in Professor Ib Chorkendorff's research group. His research project, ‘Advancing Amino Acid Electrosynthesis through Integrated Active Site Design, Mechanistic Understanding, Free-Standing Electrode Fabrication, and Continuous Flow Cell Engineering,’ aims to improve the electrosynthetic production of amino acids through the integration of active sites, mechanistic explanation, free-standing electrode fabrication, and continuous flow cell engineering.

The aim of MSCA postdoctoral fellowships is to support the careers of researchers and promote excellence in research and to help them gain experience in other countries, disciplines and non-academic fields.

We warmly congratulate Dr. Wan on this achievement and wish him all the best for his future in Denmark. We are proud that our researchers are being recognized with such prestigious fellowships and look forward to hearing about his successes.

Dr Wan was dedicated during his time at the MPI CEC and committed to developing new carbon-based materials for the field of electrocatalysis and ammonia cracking. We will miss him and wish him all the best for his future.
