With the ESYS initiative, acatech - German Academy of Science and Engineering, the Leopoldina National Academy of Sciences and the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities provide impetus for the debate on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in Germany.

The annual conference serves to further develop the topics and focal points of the project. The working groups also present their interim results.

BMBF Head of Department Dr. Karl Eugen Huthmacher opened the conference and pleaded for an improved interaction between politics and science. The aim is to translate knowledge into action.
