Getting to know quantum chemistry

"Chemistry-Olympian“ at the institute

„Chemistry-Olympian“ Janin Uedemann spent two weeks at our institute after making it into round three of the <link http: wettbewerbe.ipn.uni-kiel.de icho _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>International Chemistry-Olympiad.

The ambitious student chose the department of Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy for her internship to gain first insights into the quantum chemistry software ORCA and theory of quantum mechanics.

Peter Pinski, PhD student in Prof. Neese’s department, is her supervisor. He took part in the IChO in 2008 and made it into the German team at the international competition.
