Kopernikus-Symposium 2022: Ways to Accelerate the Energy Transition

Federal Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger as keynote speaker on research as a driver of the energy transition

Defossilization and the transformation to greenhouse gas neutrality not only contribute to climate protection, but also to energy security in Germany and Europe. New dependencies, the war in Ukraine and rising energy prices are increasing the pressure on politicians, business, science and society to act.

How can we now succeed in accelerating the energy transition and achieving goals as quickly as possible? What technologies, instruments and framework conditions are needed to achieve this? And how can research contribute to the success of the transformation?

Experts from various disciplines will discuss this at this year's Copernicus Symposium. The event will take place both on-site and virtually: on Wednesday 28.9. at the Tagungswerk Berlin with livestream transmission to the Internet, and on Thursday 29.9. as an online conference.
