As part of their "Ruhr Summer Tour", several members of the Bundestag and Landtag (NRW) visited the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC) on Friday, August 31.

The SPD politicians received a detailed insight into the research work at the MPI CEC and the Max Planck Society.

"We want to focus on the strengths of the region," says Member of Parliament René Röspel. "That's why we visit various research institutions over three days and take many new ideas and demands on politics back to Berlin."

The SPD politicians were welcomed by Prof. Robert Schlögl, Managing Director of the MPI CEC, and Prof. Ferdi Schüth, Director of the MPI für Kohlenforschung and Vice President of the Max Planck Society.
