"Power2Change: Mission Energy Transition" shows ways to a climate-neutral Germany

Exhibition "Power2Change: Mission Energy Transition" opened at Henrichshütte Hattingen by Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger

Will we be able to produce raw materials for medicines from CO₂ in a climate-neutral way in the future? Will trucks, ships or aircraft soon be refueling with hydrogen or e-fuels? And how can green electricity be produced and transported flexibly? These are just some of the questions explored by the traveling exhibition "Power2Change: Mission Energy Transition". The exhibition is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and will be on display at the Hattingen Industrial Museum of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) from August 14, 2022 to December 11, 2022. From January 2023, it will move on from the Henrichshütte Hattingen to the Klimahaus Bremerhaven.

The Power2Change exhibition was jointly implemented by partners from research, the museum sector and science communication as part of the joint project "Science Communication Energy Transition". After the stops in Hattingen and Bremerhaven, the exhibition will continue to travel through Germany and be on display at five more stops.

The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC) is a scientific partner of the exhibition as part of the Carbon2Chem project and the Kopernikus Power-to-X projects. Robert Schlögl, former director of the MPI CEC and one of the originators of the Power2Change project, emphasized in his welcoming address the special importance of research in the success of the energy transition. In addition, he said, a broad public discourse on the topic is important.
