On Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, the biannual meeting of the SusChemSys 2.0 network in cooperation with RWTH Aachen University took place at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC). More than 40 participants came together for an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas in the fields of chemistry and process engineering. Prof. Walter Leitner, Managing Director at MPI CEC and spokesperson of the network, warmly welcomed the PhD students to Mülheim. In his lecture, he presented the history of the institute, its mission and current research priorities.

The agenda included various lectures, discussions and a guided tour of the institute. Among the speakers was PhD student Johannes Zenner with the topic "Synthesis, characterization and catalytic application of colloidal and supported Mn nanoparticles", who has been conducting research in the Multifunctional Catalytic Systems group at MPI CEC since 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Alexis Bordet.

About SusChemSys 2.0
SusChemSys 2.0 offers docorand*s from various universities and non-university research institutions in NRW the opportunity to exchange ideas in the form of an interdisciplinary network between chemistry and process engineering. The exchange takes place, among other things, in joint meetings, excursions to industrial partners and soft-skill workshops.
