CEC Director Prof. Schlögl gave the keynote speech at the <link http: www.bio-raffiniert.de _blank external-link-new-window internal link in current>BIO-raffiniert congress in Oberhausen last week, where he introduced a sustainable usage of carbon from a scientific point of view.  

The congress highlights various aspects of carbon usage, from the source of raw materials over ways of synthesis to the final products. Bio economics and sustainability are the traditional focus areas of the program, newly added was the aspect of recycling.  

The congress series, which was established in 2003, aims at fostering the exchange between science, politics and economy in the field of usage of renewable raw materials. Hosts of the event are Fraunhofer UMSICHT, the EnergieAgentur.NRW and CLIB 2021.
