Together with Federal Research Minister Anja Karliaczek, Prof. Robert Schlögl, Director of the Department 'Heterogeneous Reactions' presented today in Berlin the prototype of a car that can be powered by the synthetic fuel methanol.

Robert Schlögl considers the idea of a vehicle that generates its own electricity to be a sensible strategy for rapidly implementing the changeover and entry into the use of renewable energies in the transport sector. Methanol vehicles can play an important role in this and accelerate the energy transition.

Detailed information on the prototype is available on the BMBF website (German).
